The Wedding of Bethany and Stephen at Durego- One Year Later

Oct 7, 2011 by

As my sister’s one year anniversary is coming up, I realized that I never posted her wedding images. So I wanted to give a recap of their fabulous Old Hollywood themed wedding. My sister loves the color purple, so we used every shade of purple and paired it with gray and white. We chose Durego as their reception venue, it was the perfect venue because it’s a blank canvas for you to bring in any designs or themes. Megan Hill was their photographer and took some amazing shots.

Bethany chose a fabulous strapless lace bodice silk organza tiered dress and accessorized with feathers and a birdcage veil.

Feather detail

She loves purple, so purple shoes were very necessary.

We chose downtown Franklin for all the shots of the girls before the wedding and downtown Nashville for all the guys.

The guys wore gray suits with purple accents. Village of Flowers created all of the arrangements for us, and incorporated the feathers into everything.

Stunning Bouquets

I loved our bouquets, they were perfect!

The reception took place at Durego and it was filled with little details that made everything come together.

Since my other sister is a graphic designer at Nicole Nikolas Design, she created all of the paper products for the wedding.

We couldn’t leave the feathers out of the reception, so we made feather refs to go around the purple centerpieces. In each Village of Flowers made all white hydrangea arrangements. I add some more color to the tables, we use silver satin runners and a pale purple satin napkin.

Place Setting

Since Bethany and Stephen love watching movies their favors were popcorn. They were wrapped in a purple sleeve with their monogram and placed at each place setting.

My sister loves cupcakes, so instead of a wedding cake we did cupcakes from The Cupcake Collection. They really do have the best cupcakes in Nashville!!

The Cupcake Display

Stephen is a nurse, so he designed his cake to incorporate his love for music and his work.

A Medical-Themed Grooms Cake

During the first dance we played a slide show of the couple through the years.

Happy Anniversary Bethany and Stephen!!
