Spring Wedding Inspiration and Tips

Posted by on Apr 5, 2012 in Blog Posts | 0 comments

I am so in love with this fabulous Spring weather we are having here. All the tree colors and flowers have inspired me to do this post. As brides plan their wedding, I think it’s fun to incorporate the season into your decor.

So here’s some inspiration and tips for you ladies planning a Spring Wedding!

Tulips

Tulips are such a spring flower and to me really represent Spring.

Yellow
I think yellow is a color a lot of people associate with spring, it’s so cheery and bright.

Tea Length and Cocktail Dresses

I think Spring Weddings are the perfect time to put your maids in tea length or cocktail dresses.

Signature Drinks

Signature Drinks don’t have to only be served during the reception or cocktail hour. I love it when we have a cool signature drink for guest when they arrive for the ceremony, especially when it’s an outside wedding. Guest don’t expect it and really enjoy.

Hope these tips and inspiration help you while planning your spring wedding!

A Fall Themed Wedding at Stones River Country Club

Posted by on Mar 8, 2012 in Real Nashville Weddings | 2 comments

I really enjoyed planning this wedding with Jessica at the Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro. I hadn’t worked at the venue before, so I was excited to see how the room would turn out. Jessica and Prentiss wanted their fall theme carried out through the linens and the decor, which we were able to do! Kyle Gentry with K.G. Photography was their photographer for the day and captured these images for us.

Creations By Debbie created all their floral arrangements. For the ceremony, to keep things simple, she did an all white pew arrangement.

I personally love when the groomsmen wear a different color tux than black. Prentiss’s guys wore chocolate brown tux’s and he wore a nice ivory tux with chocolate accents.

The Country Club was a perfect back drop for their wedding.

For the reception decor, Connie Duglin Linens provided all the linens. Jessica fell in love with this chocolate button overlay and we accented it with candy apple napkins and floral arrangements.

The tables numbers were frames with pictures of the couple, so cute!

The couple decided to do a Sweetheart Table, which is a table just for the bride and groom. And we did a cream button overlay linen on their table.

Their wedding cake was created by Stephanie with Sweetest Day, it was so pretty!

Check out the groom’s cake!

The wedding turned out perfectly and exactly how the couple envisioned it!!

DIY Heart Garland

Posted by on Mar 5, 2012 in Blog Posts | 0 comments

Who doesn’t love crafts? I know I love them! I have to admit, I go to Michael’s about once a week, if they’d quit giving me the 40% coupons maybe I could stop going.

I wanted to share this really simple craft to make a heart garland. It’s perfect for an engagement shoot or you can change it up to add decor to a party. I used it at this shoot here. Here are the products that I used:

I found the heart dollies at the dollar section at Target. So just put your stencil down and dab with your choice of color paint.

Lift the stencil and let the paint dry.

Once you have finished painting your letters. I just used the red twine to tie them all together. Turned out great!!

Hidden Wedding Cost

Posted by on Mar 1, 2012 in Blog Posts | 0 comments

This is a topic that has been coming up lately and I wanted address it. I don’t think there are hidden wedding cost, but cost that you didn’t realize that you would have to pay. I know for couples that are planning their weddings, they have their budget set and then try to choose and plan vendors that work within that budget. Since this is their first encounter planning a wedding and truly don’t understand the cost or details that go into it, they run into issues of costs. Cost that they didn’t know about or didn’t realize they would have to pay for.

For example, if you choose a venue were you are able to bring your own alcohol. But later find out that you will have to purchase liability insurance in order to have alcohol at your reception. This is a fee that you didn’t expect to pay, but something that you will have to pay in order to have alcohol.

It’s important to fully understand vendor contracts and agreements, so that you are not shocked with cost that you had not planned for in the end. To help with understanding wedding cost, it’s very helpful to have a wedding planner in place at the beginning of the planning process. The wedding planner will be able to explain each venue to you and the cost involved with each. Booking your wedding planner at the beginning of the planning process, will also help eliminate any confusion of hidden wedding cost.

Winter Engagement Shoot

Posted by on Feb 28, 2012 in Blog Posts | 0 comments

A couple months ago, I ran a giveaway with Chris and Adrienne Scott, Photographers for a free Winter Engagement Styled Shoot, check it out here. Megan and Scot entered their story and won, I was so excited to work with them. Katie Russo did Megan’s makeup for the shoot.  So one really cold day we meet Chris and Adrienne at the park to shoot their images, which turned out great!

They are so cute together!!

To keep them warm, I added mugs filled with hot chocolate and a pink heart-shaped marshmallow.

Since they are having a small wedding, I took wooden hearts, painted them red and added their wedding date. Aren’t they adorable!
